Our German client in southern Lower Saxony is a specialist for technical polyurethane foams, embedded in an international group. Its products include foams in all forms, but also so-called foam systems, i.e. two-component liquid preparations that are converted into foams on site by industrial customers. The customer base includes primarily the automotive industry, but also many other industrial users. For the R&D department of our client we are looking for a Development Chemist (f/m/d) to succeed the Head of R&D in the medium term:

R&D Manager (f/m/d) Thermosets

Your tasks:

  • You will initially work your way into the existing 2 part foam systems in a developer position. You carry out adaptations of existing product types to extended requirements / raw material issues and supervise new developments according to customer specifications.
  • At the same time, you do the application engineering for customers in EMEA, also on site, and therefore have a certain travel workload
  • You work closely with sales and production, among others
  • After this transitional period, you will take over the management of the 9-person R&D department laboratory/technical centre and application technology

Your profile:

  • You have completed a degree in chemistry or comparable training, with professional experience in the field of reactive polymer systems, with or without management responsibilities
  • Experience in the development and optimisation of polyurethane formulations is highly desirable, but practical R&D experience in the field of other reactive thermosets (silicones, epoxy resins, acrylates, UP resins, etc.) would also be good prior knowledge
  • You are cooperative and communicative, and you motivate your environment with constructive charisma
  • You value direct interaction with the customer, think entrepreneurially and thus make a significant contribution to sales success
  • You speak business fluent English (obligatory). Knowledge of German is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • You live in southern Lower Saxony or are willing to relocate there
